Meet Dr. Jenny Zhu
Board Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Jenny Zhu is a Board Certified Orthodontist from Columbia University. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics – an achievement based on the highest standard of knowledge and clinical skill in the field of orthodontics. Certification, which is a voluntary process, provides an extensive review of the orthodontist's education, as well as an intensive assessment of the her clinical expertise.
Dr. Jenny Zhu is a downtown New York City native. She grew up in the tenement apartments on Orchard St. and went to P.S. 2 for elementary school. She graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and obtained her B.S. in Biology from Fairleigh Dicksinson University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then went on to earn a D.D.S. degree from NYU's College of Dentistry, graduating in the top 5% of her class. She followed that up with three additional years of specialized study in orthodontics at Columbia University's College of Dental Medicine where she achieved a Master’s degree in Orthodontics.
During her time at Columbia University, her thesis in the area of Bone and Mineral Research won an award presented by the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists. She also achieved a Certificate of Honors in the field of Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders. In 2003, she was granted an honorary dental degree from the Honduras National Dental School for her humanitarian outreach work in the impoverished nation.
